A PDF worth citing, a reference image, a video clip you'll want again: the Chrome extension saves any of it with one click, or a right-click, straight from the page you're on. The desktop app needs to be running to catch what the extension sends.

Organize without extra work

Everything lands in one library: a gallery you can filter by type, color, tag, or date, and an infinite canvas where you can lay pieces out spatially, useful for mapping sources or arranging references before you write. Tag things by hand, or turn on optional AI tagging and descriptions, run locally via Ollama, so search finds what a folder name never would.

Find things by asking, not scrolling

Semantic search is opt-in. If you use an AI assistant like Claude, Markie's built-in MCP server lets you search and retrieve your saved assets in natural language, from inside the assistant you already write in.

With you on your phone too

Markie for iPhone saves from any app through the share sheet, Safari and Photos included, and lets you browse your library on the go. It works through a sync folder, iCloud Drive, Dropbox, or Google Drive, shared with the Mac app.

Private by default

Your files live in a folder on your machine, not on a Markie server. There's no account required to use it.
